Our Club has been running the Sailability project for nearly 16 years.
We now have three types of boats available for sailors with disabilities:
20' sailing dayboat, Hawk 20 which can take up to 4 sailors and 2 crew
Twin-hull launch which can take 8 sailors and 2 crew and ramp access for 2 wheelchairs
15' sailing dinghy (RS Quest) which can take 1 sailor and 1 instructor
We provide safety boat cover for the sailing boats
We have up to 40 volunteers whom I can call upon to assist
We operate 2 sessions a day, of 2 hours each
Currently, we can offer the following available sessions on our Hawk 20 as follows:
Monday - alternate mornings from 25 July, and every Monday afternoon
Wednesday - afternoons from 27 July
Thursday - occasionally
Friday - alternate mornings from 29 July
We have all the necessary qualifications, DBS checks, risk assessment and insurance requirements to run this project professionally and safely in compliance with RYA regulations.
