The farm has been built by Mike, a totally blind farmer. His dream was to create a farm where he could encourage other people with disabilities and additional needs to start a career in agriculture. Here at Inclusive Farm we encourage you to fulfil your own potential to learn, to grow and achieve. Having built the farm himself, Mike has proven to himself and the world that blindness, disability or adversity can be overcome. Inclusion is the key factor here and by giving the opportunities to experience farming, we are hoping to encourage more people to go out into the world of work and follow their own dreams.

Activities we provide include small animal care, farm animal care, building of pens and maintenance of enclosures. Feeding, cleaning out of animal enclosures. Routine animal checks which involves visual, hands on and/or audible observations of the animals. We accept anyone from aged 5 onwards supervised by parents, carers or relevant authorities. Visits are by prior appointment only and for a small fee. Please get in touch via email.

We have used different textures on the farm to help people orientate around animal enclosures and storage areas. All of our enclosures are rectangular or square with feeding and watering stations at the edge of the enclosure to aid with locating them. Our site is on an incline, making wheelchair use harder than a level site, although all of the access points to the enclosures are level and getting to them is possible. If necessary we can bring the animals to the farmyard which will allow easier access for a wheelchair user. We have a disabled portaloo toilet. We do not have any changing facilities at the moment. The changing facility is something that we are working on, being a new project the farm is still a working progress.
